3 Steps To Fit Meditation in Your Day

Meditation helps you improve your concentration and focus and create the balance you need in your busy life. It also strengthens your immune system, lowers blood pressure, reduces pain, anxiety, depression and the almighty Stress! I like to meditate just before I sleep. I lay still on my back, breathing slowly, reflecting on the day, feeling gratitude for the positives and forgiving myself for any negatives.
1. Just three minutes a day. Start with a simple step of taking time to breathe deeply. You can do this anywhere, on the bus, at your desk, even in a bathroom stall if you had to. #breathe Of course scheduling it for a relaxing space like your cozy bed to start the day may inspire you to try.
2. Take deep breathes. Wherever you are, focus on breathing in through your nose deeply and releasing out your mouth slowly. Just doing this will lower your heart rate and calm you.
3. Be accepting of how you feel. There is no wrong way to do this. Just keep breathing slowly and see how your body feels. For example, if you are overwhelmed with too much on your mind, this stepping back and breathing can help you organize your thoughts and be relaxed and ready for the rest of the day. Reflecting and relaxing your breathing work together to restore calm in your life and reducing stress and all its negative effects. #calm
